Have you ever wondered what life as a fish would be like? Or have you ever wanted to travel somewhere warm and experience a totally different world? Why not experience both of these things with today’s to do item: Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef, located off the coast of Australia, is home to thousands of different species. It is such a gorgeous place to visit and even more spectacular if you can go under water to experience it.
Where is it?
If you don’t want to go scuba diving, or the fact of being under water for long periods of time freaks you out, why not try snorkeling or even just sitting on the beach.
The most popular places to visit the Great Barrier Reef is either the Whitsunday’s or Cairns. However, anywhere on the reef will provide you will a spectacular visit. I personally visited Lady Elliot Island which is located on the most southern tip of the reef and I was able to see many amazing fish. I would recommend you travel further north though to see the amazing colors of the reef.

BUT, if you have a shark phobia, don’t go as far north, that’s where they all hide… the southern tip of the great barrier reef will have plenty of sights without the unsightly chunk missing out of your leg.
